EDUCATION TRAINING
All applicants for a teaching certificate on or after February 2, 2001, are required to complete at
least two clock hours of course work or training in school violence prevention and intervention
in accordance with Section 3004 of the Education Law. This includes applicants for certificates
in administrative and supervisory service, classroom teaching service, and pupil personnel
service. Successful completion of this two-hour course will permit you to meet this requirement.

Meets the training requirements of Chapter 786 of the Education Laws of 1992, as amended,
which established a new requirement for all dentists, dental hygienists, licensed practical and
registered nurses, optometrists, and podiatrists. The law states that these professionals who
completed coursework or training in infection control on or before July 1, 1994, must update
this information every four years thereafter and attest compliance to the State Education
Department with every application. All physicians, physician assistants, and special assistants
must attest compliance to the Department of Health. The required documentation will be
supplied to all participants. Please bring your license/permit/control or certificate number to the
