Blackboard Training Opportunities for Faculty

The following is a list of upcoming training opportunities for faculty that wish to learn more about Blackboard Learn. The list will be updated to remove past and add new events.

"Sneak Peek" sessions are brief overviews of the Blackboard Learn system and are aimed at showing how SCCC has set the system up for our faculty and students.

Q & A sessions:  Faculty are encouraged to bring questions for a hands on working session to address their needs.

Hands On Blackboard Training: This is a four hour course broken into two major modules. When the full four hour class is given, there will be a lunch break between the two sessions. There will also be opportunities to take the class on separate dates for each major module. Faculty should take Part I before Part II as the first topic covered is required to be able to effectively take Part II.  The major items for each unit are:

Part I – Approximately 1 Hour 30 Minutes

• Overview of SCCCs Development/Test Site
• Accessing the Class Roster • Building Content
• Q&A

Part II – Approximately 1 Hour 45 Minutes

• Accessing D2L Material From the Content Collection
• Creating an Assignment
• Creating a Discussion Forum
• Review Creating a Test
• Review the Grade Center
• Q&A

COURSES THAT HAVE NO REGISTRATION 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE ARE SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION.  WE ADVISE FACULTY TO REGISTER IN ADVANCE TO AVOID ARRIVING ON CAMPUS TO FIND THE SESSION HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
