Suffolk seeks to make sustainable living a part of the

day-to-day college experience for students, faculty

and staff. The College offers opportunities for student

action and involvement in sustainability initiatives and

exposure to sustainability-related careers. The following

highlights some of the College’s successful initiatives:

Green Your Commute:

Transportation is an integral element

of a commuter college student’s

experience. Suffolk partnered with

511 NY Ride Share and Suffolk County

Transit, to reduce the College’s carbon

footprint and offer innovative ways to

encourage greener transportation for

students and staff. More than 2,000

students registered for the program.

Suffolk is also is a proud partner of the Clean Air New York Program.

Plug In:

Suffolk offers 12 free electric vehicle charging stations

across its three campuses for use by students, faculty and staff.

The College continues to be

recognized by the U.S.

Department of Energy for

supporting their Workplace

Charging Challenge Program.

The College’s charging stations

have saved more than

4,500 gallons of gasoline.
