This first course in covers the following topics: creating a user interface with Toolbox
controls, menu, and dialog boxes; utilizing the new debugging tools and structured error
handlers to build robust code; managing data in programs using collections, arrays, and string
processing techniques; automating Microsoft Office applications and managing processes; and
using inheritance and other new object-oriented programming capabilities.
Prerequisite: XCO116 or equivalent knowledge. (10 meetings) (3.0 CEUs)

Learn the core concepts of the primary programming language for Microsoft’
environment. Topics to be covered include classes and objects, control statements, arrays,
exception handling, graphical user interfaces with windows forms, string building and regular
expressions, files and streams and database access. Students are required to purchase the
textbook C# 2012 for Programmers, 5th Edition by Paul Deitel and Harvey Deitel published
by Prentice Hall (ISBN 978-0133440577) Prerequisite: XCO116, XCW110 or equivalent
knowledge. Note: Class will not meet on 10/9. (8 meetings)

This campus is home to the Lively Arts Series, which features a variety of
affordable shows for children and audiences of all ages. Past performances
include Mutts Gone Nuts, Dracula and Colors of India.
