Today more than ever before, people from every walk of life are using meditation, with its

tremendous health and social benefits, to enhance their personal or professional lives. This

course explores Eastern and Western philosophy and meditative approaches. Please bring the

following to class: a mat, cushion or blanket, paper, pencil, and a water bottle. Please dress in

comfortable clothing. (1 meeting)

XAH113 COMMUNITY FIRST AID AND SAFETY*

Tuition $150.00

Community First Aid and Safety is a 12-hour course that includes recognizing and caring for

respiratory and cardiac emergencies in adults, infants and children. It also covers first aid

topics such as cuts, scrapes and bruises; burns; bleeding control; how to minimize the effects

of shock; injuries to bones, muscles and joints, such as sprains and strains; and sudden

illness, including poisonings and heat and cold emergencies. The text will be provided.

Successful completion of the course will result in Red Cross certification in CPR First Aid,

which is valid for two years. (4 meetings)

XAH101 STANDARD FIRST AID*

Tuition $123.00

Instructs participants in the signs and symptoms of a heart attack; how to help someone who

is choking; how to administer mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and one-person CPR; and how to

help victims of bleeding and shock, burns, eye and nose injuries, bites and stings, fractures,

poisoning, diabetic emergencies, stroke seizures, and temperature emergencies. The text will

be provided. Successful completion of the course, including a written and practical test, will

result in Red Cross certification, which is valid for two years.
