TITLE: Graphic Designer & Event Coordinator

CAMPUS: Eastern Campus in Riverhead

The Events and Graphics Coordinator position is a full-time position with the Suffolk Community College Association, Inc. and as such, salary and benefits for the position are determined according to the Association salary and benefits package. The Events and Graphics Coordinator reports to the Director of Campus Activities and Student Leadership Development and is responsible for managing the room reservation system for all buildings on campus and within the Culinary Center for events hosted by internal groups. This position would also work closely with the Program Coordinator to support the Office of Campus Activities and students in their design and execution of campus programs. Finally, this position is responsible for graphic design development for the Office of Campus Activities & Student Leadership Development.




  • Supports the graphic need of the Office of Campus Activities & Student Leadership Development by developing marketing material for office supported programming, student clubs and organizations, multicultural affairs, divisional programs, and other campus needs as necessary. Develops various types of material including but not limited to Flyers, Posters, Brochures, Digital Signage, Programs, Signs, and Handouts.


  • Manages the content on the campus Digital Signage, including the posting and removal of campus and college notices.


  • In coordination with the Campus’s Executive Dean and the Director of Campus Activities & Student Leadership Development, manages and develops content of the electronic signage at the entrance to the campus.


  • Responsible for managing the reservation system for space requests on the Eastern Campus and at the Downtown Culinary Center. Duties include but are not limited to receiving and communicating status of space requests, submitting work orders to Plant Operations, ensuring set-up request follow Fire Marshal’s codes, and assists with overseeing technology needs and set-ups for events (i.e. transfer day, career day, club fair, etc.).


  • Manages reservation software system to process room reservation requests and work orders.


  • Assumes primary responsibilities for large scale campus events as determined by the Director of Campus Activities & Student Leadership Development.


  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Activities and Student Leadership Development and/or designee.



An Associate’s Degree required, a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.  A minimum of three year of experience in graphic design is required. Experience in event coordination is required, preferably in higher education. Proven success in working with students, faculty, and staff, and demonstrated capability in working with diverse populations also is preferred. The coordinator is expected to operate autonomously and professionally in all areas of responsibilities to reflect the mission of the office and the college.        




Salary to be based on the qualifications and years of experience.
