| POSITION DESCRIPTION: | SUNY Suffolk is searching for in-person Adjunct Instructors in Drafting beginning in the Fall 2026 semester to teach day classes, at the Ammerman Campus in Selden, NY. SUNY Suffolk is a comprehensive community college committed to open access, equity, and student success, and candidates for adjunct faculty positions should be prepared to demonstrate their commitment to these values.
Instructors must have an architectural background to teach students how to create precise technical 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using Revit by teaching one of the following courses:
DRF112 - Technical Drawing/Basic CAD Course Description: This is an introductory course to basic and intermediate drafting practices that test students' ability to produce, read and understand technical working drawings. Included are basic geometric drawing, Multiview drawing, measuring to scale and dimensioning of technical drawings. Work includes two-dimensional and pictorial (engineering and architectural) drawings created by hand and with the use of CAD (Computer-Aided Drafting). Note: DRF112 and DRF114 are equivalent and credit will not be given for both. (2 hrs. lecture, 3 hrs. laboratory) No prerequisite. Offered on: A / 3 cr. hrs.
Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
DRF218 - Architectural Drafting: Presentations Course Description: Aesthetic design of simple structures. Topics include site plans, perspective, modeling and rendering techniques, and use of computer-assisted drafting system. (2 hrs. lecture, 3 hrs. laboratory) Prerequisite: DRF112 and COT114. Offered on: A / 3 cr. hrs.

| MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor’s degree in architecture or architectural technology. · Two (2) years of recent professional experience as an architectural drafter, designer, or architect using AutoCAD and/or Revit software. · Proficiency with AutoCAD version 2023 or newer for 2D drafting (professional portfolio of AutoCAD work must be presented). · Proficiency with Revit version 2023 or newer for 3D modeling (professional portfolio of Revit work must be presented).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Architectural Registration (RA) license. · Master’s degree in architecture. · Teaching experience at the college level.

| HIRING SALARY: | This is a Unit III position covered under the Faculty Association of Suffolk County Community College collective bargaining agreement with the college. |
