Maintenance & Custodial Positions 

(Maintenance Mechanic, Custodial Worker, Grounds Crew, Laborer, Equipment Operator) 

Maintenance & Custodial staff ensure that the College’s campuses are safe, functional, and well-maintained. 

Responsibilities may include building maintenance, custodial services, groundskeeping, equipment operation, and supporting campus infrastructure. These roles are essential to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that supports learning and daily operations. 



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Maintenance and custodial positions are typically non-competitive civil service titles and do not require a civil service exam. Candidates must meet minimum qualifications and apply as opportunities become available.

HIRING SALARY:

Positions listed are part of the Suffolk County Civil Service classifications. Compensation is based on the collective bargaining agreement between the College and the Association of Municipal Employees (AME).
