POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Suffolk County Community College is the largest community college in the State University of New York (SUNY) system and primarily serves an audience of more than 1.5 million residents of Suffolk County.  The region benefits from an exceptionally high quality of life, with access to world-class arts, sports, New York City, and the natural resources of Long Island.

 

  • Configuration for automated voice systems, administers new accounts, adds moves and changes for VolP servers. Configuration and maintenance of Communications Manager, Call Attendant Manager, Voicemail servers, Emergency Responder, Call Accounting server, and Emergency Alert systems.
  • Supervises Call Center Attendants to include information gathering from various services and maintaining schedule' breaks and time cards
  • Configuration of Mass Alerts and Paging Zones. Responsible for Communicating Emergency Alerts to community. Responsible for communicating Telecommunication outages to the community/
  • Conferring with outside vendors to schedule jobs, process invoices, order equipment and process service requests/trouble tickets
  • Assist user community with feature training and configuration,
  • Assist Network Technicians with Installs and configuration


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and three (3) years of experience operating and updating a computerized telecommunications system.



HIRING SALARY:

Position is eligible for medical benefits as offered by the College. 

Starting salary $45,362. in accordance with Suffolk County Civil Service and AME contract and is non-negotiable. 

Provisional Appointment: This position requires an appointment from a certified eligible list and currently there is no established list. For you to become a permanent employee, you must pass the examination and be reachable (Rule of Three) on the certified eligible list that results from the civil service examination for this position.
