Waiver of Testing
Students may be waived from taking all or part of the placement tests under the following circumstance:

• Students with a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) verbal score of 500 or better will be waived from taking the English and reading part of the placement test.

• Students with a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) math score of 510 or better will be waived from taking the math portion of the placement test.

• Students with an English Regents score of 85 or better will be waived from taking the sentence skills portion of the placement test.

• Transfer students who have completed appropriate college-level course work may be waived from taking all or part of the placement tests.

Special Testing Accommodations
Special testing accommodations, such as extended time, readers, writers, etc., may be provided to students with a documented disability. Students who would like to request such special testing conditions must contact the disabilities services office on their home campus (see below) and fully document their disability prior to taking the computerized placement test. This process should be completed at least two weeks prior to the start of classes in order to allow sufficient time for any necessary arrangements to be made.
