Using the Job Connection

-

Upon agreement, you can proceed to register with Suffolk's Job Connection and post job listings. By registering, you are agreeing to maintain your employer account and job postings and keep it up to date. Once job postings are approved, students on all three campuses will have access to this information. This is a free service provided by Suffolk County Community College's Career Services area on all three campuses.

-

All jobs will be reviewed by career services staff, and you will receive e-mail notification upon approval. While this program is based on self disclosure and honesty in providing accurate information, please note that jobs with incomplete information and/or duplicate listings may be removed without notice.

-

Approved jobs will be listed in the Job Connection database for 60 days. It is your responsibility, once the position is closed, to update your account and complete the status of the job as timely as possible.

-

Ten days prior to the expiration of each job listing, you will receive an e-mail message requesting placement information and indicating that the job will soon be removed from the system. You may choose to extend your job listing by renewing for an additional 60 days at this time.

-

You may add a new job or delete a current job listing from the database at any time.

-

For personal assistance with your employer account and job listings, you may contact the Career Services Office at 631-451-4049.

All employers registering for Suffolk's Job Connection must adhere to the following guidelines:

-

Job openings must be submitted directly by the hiring employer (i.e., jobs from employment agencies or other third party employers will not be accepted).

-

All jobs listed must comply with EEO/AA guidelines below.

-

All jobs listed must be in compliance with any applicable local, state, national, or international law.

-

Jobs that are commission only, contract based, and/or require up-front fees must be clearly stated on the job listing entry.

-

Jobs which require recruitment of other members as the primary source of income (i.e., pyramid schemes) will not be accepted.

-

All jobs performed in private homes will not be listed online.

-

All jobs in the political arena should be in established offices.

-

Positions posted as co-op and internships offering college credit may be approved for posting. However, all college credit offerings are determined by the college and not the employers. By posting these positions on Suffolk's Job Connection, the Career Services office does not necessarily approve or recommend these positions.

-

Information contained in Suffolk's Job Connection shall not be used by outside vendors for any other purposes, such as solicitation, chain letters, etc.
