         3                    Will everyone, please, stand and we

         4               will have Trustee Kane lead us in the Pledge

         5               of Allegiance.

         6                    (WHEREUPON, the Pledge of Allegiance

         7               was recited.)

         8                    THE CHAIRMAN:  Dennis is joining us by

         9               phone.  I am glad you are able to join us,

        10               Dennis.

        11                    We have a matter for an Executive

        12               Session which is to look at present

        13               litigation -- potential litigation, and then

        14               we will come back and get to the specifics

        15               of today's discussion on the policy

        16               questions.

        17                    If the litigation -- potential

        18               litigation will entertain a motion with

        19               respect to that purpose.

        20                    MR. KANE:  So moved.

        21                    MR. MATTICE:  Second.

         8                    THE CHAIRMAN:  I do apologize for us

        12                    MR. MATTACE:  Okay, Resolution Number

        13               2008.37 Adopting a Local Preference Policy.

        14                    Whereas, the College acts as an

        15               economic engine for the County of Suffolk

        16               and the region, and Whereas, the College

        17               seeks to stem the "brain drain" from the

        18               County of Suffolk by developing and

        19               promoting business opportunities, and

        20               Whereas, awarding contracts to be local

        21               consultants when in the best interests of

        22               the College helps to achieve these goals, be

        23               it, therefore, RESOLVED, that the Local

        24               Preference Policy (Attachmet1) is hereby

        25               adopted for immediate implementation.
