Transfer Student

Every year over 1,600 transfer students begin their studies at Suffolk by transferring credits from other colleges and universities.

Suffolk also awards transfer credit from other sources including Advanced Placement Examinations, Armed Services training, and educational programs sponsored by certain non-collegiate organizations such as employers and government agencies.

Your transfer to Suffolk County Community College can be accomplished easily. First, you may apply online or, if you prefer, you may obtain an application from any Suffolk County high school guidance office, from Central Admissions, or you can download it.

Next, have official transcripts from both your high school and any colleges you have attended, as well as SAT or ACT test scores if you have taken them, sent to Central Admissions at the address below.

Once your college transcripts have arrived, your transfer credits will be evaluated automatically and you will be notified of the results. If your transcripts are not in English, they must be translated and evaluated by an official evaluation agency or national consulate. You can view the Transfer Evaluation Tables for an unofficial preview of how your courses are likely to transfer (available for select colleges only).
