Function:
The Office of Computer and Information Systems reports to the
Vice
President for Workforce and Economic Development and is made up of
several departments, offices, and service groups. Descriptions of
these follow below.

Departments:

The Office of the College Associate Dean of Computer Information Systems
-
This office provides computing, telecommunications, and information technology
planning, in conjunction with the College
Computing Council, and directs and coordinates the efforts of the other
offices, departments, and groups that make up CIS.

Administrative Computing

This service group is responsible for mainframe systems, files, and
applications, along with other college-wide systems and applications available
through the college's network. These include student and human resources;
financial systems; Internet and Intranet publishing; data warehousing; e-mail;
and client/server applications.

Desktop
Maintenance and Repair Services
-
This service group handles the maintenance, repair, and installation of desktop
computers, printers and terminals, and the connection of these devices to the
college's network infrastructure.

Networking
and Telecommunications

This service group is responsible for the technical management of the college's
phone systems and network infrastructure. Included in these are the phone
servers, individual campus communications wiring plants, and inter-campus
lines.

The Office of the College Associate Dean of Computer Information Systems
The office is located in the Norman F. Lechtrecker Building, room 230,
and can be reached by phone at extension 4205. The office is staffed
by the executive director, management
analyst, and secretarial assistant. Normal
hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. through 5 p.m.
