Phone Templates: Phone templates define the functionality of the phone soft keys.  The soft keys appear at the bottom for the phone display.  See Below.  These keys change function depending on the status of the phone. 


All phones use the College's standard template.  The appearance of the template is dependent upon the phone model and the phone's operational status.

The Standard Template - Models 7940/60:

Operational statuses include: Awaiting a Call | Making a Call (dialing a number)Receiving a Call | Call Answered / in Progress | Call(s) on Hold
 

Awaiting a Call: 
  • PickUp:  Press to pick up a call in your coverage group

  • CFwdALL: Set you phone so all calls go to another extension.  Press a second time to cancel CFwdALL

  • Redial:  Redial the last number

  • New Call: Same as lifting up the phone receiver

Making a Call: 
  • PickUp:  Press to pick up a call in your coverage group
  • Redial:  Redial the last number
  • CFwdALL: Set you phone so all calls go to another extension.  Press a second time to cancel a CFwdALL
  • More: Moves to the next menu level
  • GPickUp:  Press to pick up a call outside of you coverage group.  After pressing this soft key you must enter number of the group using the keypad.
  • EndCall: Hang-up
  • More: Return to the top menu level
Receiving a Call: 
  • Answer: Answers the call in speakerphone mode
  • iDivert: Sends the call directly to voicemail.
Call Answered: 
  • Hold:  Place answered call on hold
  • EndCall: Hang-up
  • Transf..: Transfer answered call to another phone
  • More: Moves to the next menu level
  • Confrn:  Place call on hold to begin a conference with another phone number
  • ConfLi:  When on a conference you initiated, list the phone numbers of those participating
  • Select: Allow you to select from participates listed on the screen. When viewing a conference list, select the phone number highlighted to be disconnected.
  • Join:  Use this feature to join several calls together to form a conference call.
  • Park: Use this feature to send a call to a holding extension for pickup in another location.  You will see the phone number of the holding extension .  Once you arrive at the other location, dial the number of that extension to pick up the call.
  • More: Return to the top menu level
Call on Hold:
  • Resume: Return to the highlighted call. Note: If more than one call is engaged or you have begun to make another call while having a previous call on hold, you must use the arrow key to return to the correct call on the phone screen, to remove that call from hold.
  • New Call: Selects a new line and provides a dial tone to make another call
  • DirTrFr: Direct transfer to another extension w/o remaining on the line.
  • Join:  Use this feature to join several calls together to form a conference call.
  • Select: Allow you to select from a call listed on the screen.  The call can then be resumed of disconnected.

To place a call on hold, press the hold button.
