Standard Package:
The college has standardized on MacAfee's virus protection software
from Network Associates. The current product is a combination of Dr. Solomon
and McAfee technology. McAfee software has been coming in on all new computers
purchased, and is licensed on a biannual basis by the College. This license
entitles college PCs to free upgrades of both the scan engine and the virus
defination files.

| End User
Responsibility:
Everyone has a responsibility to protect the college from
virus infection. If the computer you use is on the college network, or
you share data with others at the college, you should be running an up-to-date
version of McAfee and using procedures that reduce your chance of infection.
|
| Staying Current:
The Computer Center downloads and posts the current virus
engines and definition files for use by lab PAs. In addition, Desktop Services
is currently setting up individual desktops to automatically install the
latest virus scan engine and defination file updates. Individuals with
network logons will automatically receive these updates. See "About
Your Virus Protection Package", for information on the desktop setup and
update process. |
