Mailbox Tips – Empty Deleted Items
In Outlook: there are simple methods to Empty the Deleted Items
Folder

1. Right click on the folder,
Choose Empty “Deleted Items”
Folder
Or

2. Highlight the Deleted Items
Folder and from the
Tools menu, click
Empty “Deleted Items” Folder
Automatic Empty:
You can set Outlook/Desktop to
automatically
empty this folder each time you exit. To
activate this setting click:

Tools>Options>Other>
·
And
clicking the box to “Empty the Deleted Items folder upon exiting”

You will be prompted for confirmation, each time you exit.

OWA does not have an “Empty
Deleted Items folder upon exiting” setting.
You must manually empty this folder before exiting. The desktop setting from the above section is
not processed in OWA.
This deleted items folder is emptied using the same method
as above.

Either
by right clicking on the folder and choosing Empty Deleted Items from the menu

Or,
left clicking on the Deleted Items folder to bring up its contents. Then, clicking on the trash can icon.
