Connecting
to Your Email from Home On Campus College Mailbox CleanUp Tips From Home - Changing the Settings for Your Mail Servers The simplest way to get you SCCC mail from off campus is to use Outlook Web.http://www.sunysuffolk.edu/exchange This method uses an internet browser and the SCCC homepage. Your SCCC mailbox opens, allowing you to read, respond, write, and delete mail items. We recommend this interface because it maintains one true copy of your mailbox.Users may have to refresh or re establish the link to the log in screen for this method since the college upgraded the version of Exchange. From the SCCC help page click on the Outlook Web link. If this had been marked as a Favorite or Bookmark, reset the link. Link at the beginning of this paragraph. One issue that can occur with use of the Outlook Web Access is a problem replying to messages. The error message "550:Reply denied" will appear. To correct this problem the user has to reconfigure their email client to use their ISP's server as the Outgoing mail server.(SMTP). Other mail programs will "pop" your mail at home to your home PC. This may or may not remove your mail from the college server depending on settings you choose in the mail program on your home PC. Confusion often occurs when users are notified that their mailbox is full and they have deleted old mail. The old mail may only be deleted from the home PC and a copy may remain on the server. The server maintains the mailbox that may become full. Troubleshooting Outlook Web Use AOL Recent upgrades in AOL versions (i.e. V.9)
have made aggressive attempts to block spam and unwanted email. Some of the
blocking techniques may also block SCCC users from opening OWA mailboxes.
Why do I get the message from the System Administrator that my mailbox is full when I have deleted the items in the inbox and sent items?
