1. The words Suffolk County Community College should appear at the top or front of all documents and should be dominant over the name of the campus.
2. To emphasis a word or phrase, please use either bold or underlining, not both.
3. Do capitalize the following:
a. the title of an administrator or professor when it appears before the name (e.g., Professor Mary Smith)
b. the names of departments and divisions (e.g., the Department of Physical Sciences, the English department, the Humanities Division)
c. the names of college offices (e.g., the Admissions Office, the Office of Financial Aid)
d. titles of college curricula (e.g., Opthalmalic Dispensing, Broadcast Telecommunications, electrical Engineering Technology)
e. the titles of specific courses (e.g., Standard Freshman Composition, Principles of Computing with Pascal, Calculus with Analytic Geometry I)
f.  the names of specific college degrees (e.g., Associate in Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master's of Business Administration)
4. Do NOT capitalize the following:
a. the words college, campus and library when they stand alone (e.g., The college has three campuses. This is the oldest campus. The library is open on Saturday.)
b. the title of an administrator or professor when it appears after the name (e.g., Salvatore LaLima, interim president; Mary Smith, professor of Business Administration)
c. the names of generic degrees (e.g., associate's degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree) NOTE: These also require apostrophes.
d. the names of the seasons
